Race Summary
JOHNS PLACE went up early to press the pace from between foes, gained a slight edge soon after the eighth pole, then lasted while coming out slightly and brushing with LIL E ROSE nearing the wire. ARTFUL LAUNCH, bumped at the start by ONE FIT BABY, settled inside, was never far back, eased out slightly at the sixteenth pole, was angled back to the rail in the late going and missed. LIL E ROSE forced the pace three abreast, reached the front at the furlong grounds, then was outgamed the remainder while being brushed on the wire. CATZINGA, never far back and four or five wide, lacked a late account. CECELIA ROSE, outrun to the lane, improved position while not a threat. CHECK THE MATH tired on the turn. ONE FIT BABY leaned in at the start bumping ARTFUL LAUNCH, gained the lead soon after, raced two or three wide and tired nearing the stretch.
