Race Summary
CHIEF EXPORT, reserved inside early, saved ground when advancing around the turn and into the stretch, came through close quarters and drove clear late under strong handling. RUNGIUS went up early to press front-running MARK OF SUCCESS four wide, took over on the turn, was well clear into the stretch and could not last. SCION, never far back and off the inside, loomed six or seven wide in the last eighth but couldn't produce the needed response. PRAYER SERVICE settled near the inside early, was outrun to the stretch, moved between horses when advancing four wide and managed a mild gain. ROAD SHOW stalked the pace four or five wide, raced prominently into the final furlong and flattened out. SHADOWLAND, well placed in hand between foes early, raced within easy striking distance to the stretch and weakened. MARK OF SUCCESS gained a slight lead early while two or three wide, lost the advantage to RUNGIUS on the turn and was finished upon going six furlongs.
