Race Summary

STRAIGHT LINE gained the lead at the break, was joined from the inside by CLOCK STOPPER and headed, regained the edge from that one on the turn, drew clear and was kept to his task. CHIEF EXPORT outrun to the stretch and saving ground throughout, rallied from the rail and was up for the place. PRIVATE VOW tracked the pace four wide, was on even terms with the winner while outside that one entering the lane but weakened. LEVEL PLAYINGFIELD, within easy striking distance and three or four wide, flattened out when the test came. COWBOY HARDWARE, in contention to the stretch and two or three wide, was empty in the drive. CLOCK STOPPER, slow to begin, was sent to the fore two wide, battled for the lead the opening half, then faltered entering the stretch
