Race Summary

COLOMBIANO, hustled to the fore inside early, relaxed nicely while taken in hand, was headed by CARDINAL RUN on the backstretch, regained the edge on the far turn, then drew off in the stretch under mild urging. LOUIS LE GRAND followed the pace five or six wide, was asked for his best a quarter-mile out, was just off the winner for the drive but couldn't menace while fully extended to earn the place. CARDINAL RUN hopped when breaking a bit awkward, went up to force the pace soon after, dueled outside the winner on the backstretch, headed COLOMBIANO upon going a half, lost the edge back to that one on the far turn and couldn't keep pace. GLOW OF SUCCESS, sluggish to start, was maneuvered eight wide on the first turn, continued extremely wide on the backstretch, edged in three wide on the far turn and passed tired foes. MAJOR JACK tracked the pace five wide for six furlongs and tired. PRESBYTERIAN, forwardly placed between horses for five furlongs, gave way nearing the stretch and wasn't abused in the drive.
