| Race Summary |
|---|
GRAND STAGE vied for the lead along the inside, shook clear entering the stretch
and maintained a diminishing advantage. ALFRIE'S FRIENDS attended the pace along
the inside, shifted out entering the stretch and was getting to the winner late.
WATERSHED EVENT tucked in to save ground, closed the gap through the second
turn, got through entering the stretch and kept on willingly to earn the show.
STRAIT OF MEWSINA (IRE) settled between horses, moved up to make a mild bid
entering the stretch but lacked the needed late response. STEEL BLUE SLEW was
jostled between horses entering the first turn, settled off of the pace, dropped
well back on the second turn, angled in entering the stretch and came again to
improve position. PAY O DAY was hustled along five wide, made a mild bid leaving
the second turn but failed to sustain the drive. BUDDHA CAN DANCE failed to
respond. APACHE STORM showed little. CHANGING STORM was rank to place, pulled to
the lead four wide, but came up empty after six furlongs and dropped out. BRED
TO WIN rushed to the lead five wide, disputed the issue for six furlong and
stopped.
