Race Summary
SABEEB, well placed four wide from early on, took over in the upper stretch, then edged clear under left-handed urging. ACTUAL CHARGES gained the advantage early, moved near the inside, dueled with TOP FAITH and could not race SABEEB in the late going. WHISPER OF SMOKE, outrun for a half and close to the rail, continued in that manner for the drive and finished with good energy. ONE COLD KITTY, never far back and two or three wide, angled six wide for the stretch run and offered a slight gain. TOP FAITH angled in early, contested the pace outside of ACTUAL CHARGES to the stretch and weakened. FRIEND STAR, outrun early and always six wide, lacked a late response. POWER ON, sluggish to start and squeezed back, failed to menace. YOU TOO followed the leaders in a striking position four or five wide to the stretch and came up empty. WITCH BAY raced in contention in behind horses for a half and weakened soon after entering the stretch. RECALCITRANT, steadied along the inside at the five furlong marker when in tight quarters, gradually weakened. CATAHOULA broke awkwardly, was steadied, raced five wide and tired.
